Have you thought of how heaven looks like?
Do you know what it is like in heaven?
Do you also know what are some things you can do in heaven?
If you realise that heaven is far more interesting than earth,
far more beautiful than earth,
with great food and great fun that you will not get bored.
Having a house of your own with your name on it,.
And seeing Jesus Christ in person,
playing with Him just like a close friend,
worshipping Him as your LORD,
dwelling in His presence forever.
So won't it be a place created specially for your enjoyment?
How would that change your view about earth?
Would you still want to hold on to the things of the earth, or quickly check yourself if you have prepared for His coming?
Is your heart pure? For the pure in heart will see God.
Did you strive to obey God? For God loves obedient children.
Most importantly, are you building a faithful relationship with Him?
If i am conscious about the pleasures of heaven, why am i still holding on to the pleasures of this earth.
Just finished reading "Big Girls don't Whine". Incidentally, to "stop whining" was one of my birthday resolutions.
The author ended with a nice poem on the final page:
After a while you learn the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul,
and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't mean security.
After a while you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
and you begin to accept defeats
with your head up and your eyes open,
with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.
After a while, you learn to build your roads on today because
tomorrow's grounds are too uncertain for plans.
After a while you learn that sunshine burns
if you get too much. So plant your garden
and decorate your own soul instead of waiting
for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure,
... that you really are strong
... and you really do have worth.
I haven't been reflecting much lately.
I haven't been feeling fine today.
I walked with a sigh and heavy footsteps.
