Thai oral

Update on thai oral. Date: 9 Nov 2005. Time: 1.40pm

12.45pm : Met Yi Xin to tie up whatever loose ends we could. Practiesed conversation over possible scenarios like ordering food over the phone, housewife speaking to maid, thai friend visiting singapore haha

1.15pm : Panick attack, heart beating very fast. Decided to make our way there at 1.30pm

1.30pm : Met Jade at the venue, she was waiting for her japanese oral hahaha her notes look much more confusing than mine.

1.40pm : More panick and more waiting

1.45pm : Why is it taking so long??

1.50pm : Group inside came out and we realised there's another group before us, cheys

2pm : Made thai small talk - where are u going later, do u think the thai teacher is good looking, why jap oral so fast ours so long

2.10pm : Our turn, finally!

But it turned out quite terrible haha the situtation was that yi xin, my thai friend is visiting singapore and she wants to buy gifts for her mother, father, older brother, younger sister. I'm supposed to tell her where is a good place for shopping. Then suggets eating chinese food, but she must reject and wants to eat something else. Ok so before that, we went in and the teachers started asking us some simple questions - who is your thai teacher, what time is your thai class, where do you stay. But that was quite scary cos they spoke rather fast and soft and you don't know if they are trying to make you relax or trying to sift out a glimpse of your conversation skills! haha that made me nervous.
Anyways we started to prepare our conversation for 5 mins and were all set and ready to go. BUT when we started, we gave each other the wrong cues haha so we were like talking all over the place about everything else except the situation. AND we couldn't coordinate at all cos we didn't follow the rehearsed script and couldn't figure out what we were trying to cue each other haha Still, thank God that we made it through and whatever the results are, whatever it will be. I just have to put it more effort for my written exam!
