"Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within me." - John 7:38
Can you trust this promise?
I have never looked at this passage the way Arthur shared with us last night. This whole living water thing seems very abstract to me. Jesus always offers an invitation and then, a promise. The invitation Jesus offers here is not a miracle pill or a six step program, but He is offering, Himself. And the promise to that, is a massive internal change within us. All the weariness and tiredness. Will i remember to go to Him and drink? even before im scraping the bottom ..
It is humbling,
when situations seem humanly impossible
when your ballooning pride comes to light
when you hear your friend praying, 'you need Him'
when you are reminded the world does not revolve around you
when you have to relearn whatever you have learnt, over and over again
when you have to learn to just be still
when it's truly not about you,
but the One whose love is better than life.
"But i have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me." - psalm 131:2
