the analogy of the over-chewed chewing gum is apt for a situation that has gone tasteless but you still have to chew on it. as clare succinctly expressed it in a word, 'yucks'.
it is good to be a geographer, but it is terrible to be an armchair geographer. i think at the heart of it all, geography is meant to affect.
