Buddy: Monday is my favourite day
Me: *Turns and looks in horror, jaw drops. You just defied all the rules of social norms!
Yesterday was mooncake festival celebration with my relatives at my cousin, Moses' house, Moss Hill as he calls it. Adam bought a set of chinese tea pot and tea cups, made tea and poured it accordingly, to the Chinese tradition. I watched through the process, suddenly feeling a sad loss for the Chinese culture in Singapore. Every step was full of meaning and purpose, even though yet unknown to me. I participated by pouring tea from the xiang1 bei1(fragrance cup) into the tea cup, then smelling the fragrance from the xiang bei and sipping the tea in 3 sips. I aspire to buy a tea cup set one day.
Memories can mean so much and can mean nothing to us. Even though we are living in the present, yet we still revisit them and change their meanings each time, letting them actively affect the way we live now. Sometimes we give them more credit, sometimes we diminish their worth. . . At times we realise the distortion we created.
God is not so concerned about the results of the battle, but how we fight it. Something i learnt this week. Sometimes i determine if God had helped me in studies depending on my results. If i passed with fireworks, does it mean that He helped, and if i didn't, does it mean that He did not help. If i put it this way, then what is studies, an end greater than God? Indeed, God is more concerned about the seeking Him through the process of studying rather.
This week has been one with small toils and turmoils. I am filled with gratefulness for the way God brought me through this week. There were times when i was so devastated, frustrated, irritated, hardened, bitter or just plain lost, still He was gently holding my hand through every one of them.
